SIZO employees intercept coded letter addressed to Dadaev

Employees of SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 2 "Lefortovo" have served an act to Zaur Dadaev about confiscation of an encrypted letter that arrived at the SIZO on August 3, said the advocate Shamsudin Tsakaev, adding that Dadaev, who is accused of murdering Boris Nemtsov, had not seen the letter.

Boris Nemtsov was killed in Moscow on February 27. Five persons, including Zaur Dadaev, Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, were detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder and put under arrest.

Tsakaev has explained that the act, served to Dadaev, states that "the letter was confiscated as written by means of cryptography and may contain inadmissible information."

"I can state with confidence that the letter is not from Dadaev's acquaintances," the TASS quotes Shamsudin Tsakaev today, who stressed, as the "Novye Izvestia" report that the letter itself did not reach Zaur Dadaev.

According to the advocate, "Dadaev himself could not present any clear explanation of the unexpected anonymous letter." Tsakaev has added that the author of the letter signed it with Latin characters – Mr. But.

"In this transcription (Mr. But), I have no idea what it means," the RBC quotes Shamsudin Tsakaev as saying. The RBC notes that the surname of the Russian citizen Viktor Bout, convicted in the USA for arms trafficking, in English is written as "Bout".
