On July 6-12, at least two persons fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week from July 6 to July 12, 2015, at least two persons perished in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot", based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The casualties are two potential members of the armed underground – one in Dagestan and one in North Ossetia.

Attacks on law enforcers

On July 7, residents of the village of Babayurt reported to the police that some unidentified man was attempting to place some object under the door of a store. Then, the man tried to escape from the police in his car. During the pursuit on the highway Khasavyurt-Lvovskoe in the Babayurt District, the man opened fire at power agents and was killed by return fire. The object found under the door of the store turned out to be a bucket with an explosive. In the trunk of the slain man's car policemen also found a pistol and another explosive device. Both bombs were destroyed by explosive experts. The Dagestani police identified the man and reported that the 28-year-old resident of Makhachkala was an accomplice to members of illegal armed formations (IAFs).

Explosions and terror acts

On July 7, at 9:30 p.m., at the private house of Akhmet Dzeitov, the head of the Sunzha ROVD (District Interior Division), located in the village of Troitskaya, Sunzha District of Ingushetia, an explosive device was triggered. At that moment, Police Colonel Akhmet Dzeitov was at home. The explosion hurt nobody.

On July 8, around 3:00 p.m., in Astan Kesaev Street in the city of Vladikavkaz, a strong explosion occurred, which killed a man. The casualty was not identified. The spokesman of law enforcement bodies of North Ossetia-Alania said that a previously convicted 35-year-old resident of Vladikavkaz committed a self-explosion and died from received wounds.

Detentions

On July 7, at 7:30 a.m., unidentified armed men in military camouflage uniform kidnapped Rasul M., born in 1970, a resident of the village of Novoe Solkusheno of the Naur District of Chechnya. On the second day after kidnapping, Rasul was released, as reported by his relative. According to his story, militaries had some information that Rasul had been involved in something, but it was not confirmed.
