Gimry authorities deny information about blowing up houses during CTO
The administration of the village of Gimry, Untsukul District of Dagestan, has refuted information that during the recent counterterrorist operation (CTO) villagers' summer cottages were blown up.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 23 Gimry villagers reported on shelling from helicopters and APCs (armoured personnel carriers) of summer cottages located in the outskirts of the village during the CTO.
Today, Aliaskhab Magomedov, the head of the village has refuted the information. "Only the dugout was blown up. It was in a secluded place, about a kilometre off the village, in a ravine; and there are no houses nearby. Two bodies were found under the ruins. There are no more destructions in the village and near it," Aliaskhab Magomedov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
His words were confirmed by his deputy Abdulmadjid Nutsalkhanov. "I personally went there to check the information about the exploded houses. It found no confirmation. Garden houses and gardens, plantations of vegetables and corn have not suffered. In the course of the CTO, people were not allowed there. They saw and heard explosions and gunfire from afar; and, apparently, this was the source of rumours about destructions," Abdulmadjid Nutsalkhanov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
