Country houses near Gimry blown up, residents of Dagestan report

The special operation near the village of Gimry in the Untsukul District is underway, and additional military vehicles are directed there, local residents report.

A resident of the neighbouring village of Vremenny, who preferred to remain anonymous, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that additional military vehicles still approached Gimry.

"We can hear shots. We saw armoured infantry vehicles coming. Helicopters spew shells. And all this happens outside the village. We can see how country houses are being blown up," the local resident said at about 1.40 p.m. According to the source, helicopters conduct random shooting. "They blew up a country house of a local resident, a follower of Sufism. So, they do not search for Wahhabis, they just need a hot spot in Gimry," the source has stated.

In the morning, according to a woman from Gimry, who preferred to remain anonymous, houses in the village were searched. The woman has added that mobile communication in the special operation area is still being blocked: local residents cannot reach any mobile number, and only sometimes they can send SMS-messages.
