In Said Amirov's case, court questions former head of administration of Sovietskiy District of Makhachkala

At the trial in the case against former Mayor Said Amirov, Shikhakhmed Omarov, the former head of the Sovietskiy District of Makhachkala, has described the circumstances of the seizure of documents from the administration of the capital of Dagestan in 2011.

According to the defence of Said Amirov, the testimony of the witness refutes the prosecutors' version on the conflict between Said Amirov and investigator Gadjibekov. Former Mayor Said Amirov is charged of organizing the Gadjibekov's murder.

On June 11, the North-Caucasian District Military Court questioned Shikhakhmed Omarov, the former head of the Sovietskiy District of Makhachkala. The witness has described the circumstances of the seizure of the documents, because of which, according to the investigators, a conflict occurred between Amirov and Gadjibekov.

According to the case materials, during the seizure of the documents, the administration building was cordoned off by OMON (riot police) fighters, and the seizure itself was supported by power agents. Shikhakhmed Omarov, who witnessed the event, stated that the seizure of the documents had been held in accordance with the operating procedure and without any conflicts.

One of the advocates also told the "Caucasian Knot" that, according to the testimonies given by witnesses, the seizure of the documents was "an everyday routine procedure for the administration of the Sovietskiy District", and all the documents were given out voluntarily.

"If there was no conflict between Amirov and Gadjibekov, then the former Mayor had no motives to organize the murder of the investigator. And it is the allegedly arisen sharp conflict, which has formed a basis for the indictment charging Amirov with the murder of Gadjibekov," the defender has emphasized.
