"Kommersant": Anzor Gubashev pleads guilty after his detention

Anzor Gubashev, who is involved in the case of the Boris Nemtsov's murder, has made a confession immediately after his detention, the "Kommersant" reports.

Boris Nemtsov was killed in Moscow on February 27. Five persons, including Zaur Dadaev, Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, were detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder and put under arrest.

Anzor Gubashev confessed to his involvement in the Boris Nemtsov's murder yet during the interrogation carried out on March 7. According to him, he picked up the killer to the place of the crime. Meanwhile, Anzor Gubashev has also mentioned that the cause of the crime was a revenge on Boris Nemtsov for his position in the resonant story with the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad published in the French magazine "Charlie Hebdo", the newspaper "Kommersant" reports today with reference to its sources in the law enforcement bodies.

Advocates of natives of Chechnya and Ingushetia detained in the case have expressed their doubt about the reliability of the testimony given by Anzor Gubashev. According to the advocates, in his confession, Anzor Gubashev, in particular, mentioned that to take revenge on Boris Nemtsov, he began looking for associates through the Internet and got acquainted with Beslan Shavanov.

Meanwhile, the defenders have reminded that Anzor Gubashev personally knew Beslan Shavanov for many years, the "Kommersant" reports without mentioning the name of the person, who voiced the position of the defence.
