Mother of Judge Novikov holds picket in Krasnodar

Today, Tamara Novikova, the mother of Dmitry Novikov, a retired judge of Sochi, has come to the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Krasnodar with a poster in defence of her son.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Dmitry Novikov became involved in several criminal cases as a defendant. He himself and his advocates treat criminal proceedings against him as illegitimate. The term of the preliminary investigation into the cases against Dmitry Novikov has been repeatedly extended.

Tamara Novikova has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the reason for her picket is in the investigators' threats to choose arrest as a pre-trial restriction measure against her son if he refuses to stop providing the media with his information about the activities of judges in Sochi.

"In defence of my innocence and my good name, I continue to unmask criminal connections of judges, investigators, and prosecutors with the help of publicity, and this fact causes inadequate reaction," Dmitry Novikov himself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
