"Kommersant": investigators suspect Ruslan Mukhudinov of involvement in Boris Nemtsov's murder

The case of the murder of Boris Nemtsov involves a new suspect Ruslan Mukhudinov, a resident of Chechnya. Investigators believe he could be the one who promised to pay the defendants 25 million roubles for the murder of the politician, the media report today.

On February 27, opposition politician Boris Nemtsov was killed in Moscow. According to the official information, five natives of Chechnya and Ingushetia have been detained in the case of the murder, including Zaur Dadaev, Anzor Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev, Tamerlan Eskerhanov, and Shagid Gubashev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zaur Dadaev has confessed that a native of Chechnya with nickname "Rusik" helped him to organize the murder: he gave him a pistol with rounds and a car, in which, according to the investigators, the killer escaped from the place. On March 17, this was reported by the "RBC" with reference to the sources familiar with the progress of the investigation. The source has also stated that "Rusik" allegedly promised to pay 5 million roubles for the murder of Boris Nemtsov. However, according to the "Kommersant", the customer offered through an intermediary to kill Boris Nemtsov and promised to pay 5 million roubles not to the whole group, but to each of criminals, that was, 25 million roubles. However, on March 10, Zaur Dadaev complained to members of the Public Monitoring Commission (PMC) about torture by law enforcers and claimed his non-involvement in the crime.

At the request of the Chief Investigating Department (CID) of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), the law enforcers visited the Ruslan Mukhudinov's home and questioned his relatives, the "Kommersant" reports. According to the newspaper, till present, the investigators have not succeeded in finding Ruslan Mukhudinov.

The "Kommersant" also notes that the investigators are still interested in questioning Ruslan Geremeev, the former officer of the battalion "Sever" (North) of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
