Chief investigator into Nemtsov's murder case replaced

As reported by Shamsudin Tsakaev, one of the advocates, the investigation team dealing with the murder of the politician Boris Nemtsov is now headed by Nikolai Tutevich, who replaced Igor Krasnov.

Boris Nemtsov was killed in Moscow on February 27. Five persons, including Zaur Dadaev, Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, were detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder and put under arrest.

"Igor Krasnov, an investigator for particularly important cases of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), who earlier headed the above team, has received a promotion; therefore, Nikolai Tutevich was appointed to head the team of investigators," said the advocate.

Igor Krasnov earlier solved the murder of the lawyer Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasia Baburova. He had also conducted the investigation into the assassination attempt on the head of Russian Open Joint-Stock Company "United Energy Systems" Anatoly Chubais, the "Kommersant" reports.

As for Nikolai Tutevich, he earlier headed the investigation into the murder of Ruslan Yamadaev, the ex-commander of the GRU battalion "Vostok", the RBC reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to investigators, on September 24, 2008, a group of attackers drove up to the car, driven by Ruslan Yamadaev, when he stopped at the traffic lights. One of the criminals jumped out of the car and opened automatic fire on the Yamadaev's car; the latter died on the spot. The sentence in that case was announced on October 18, 2010: Aslanbek Dadaev, who was found by investigators to be the immediate gunman, was sentenced to 20 years in a high-security colony, Elimpasha Khatsuev – to 15 years, and Timur Isaev – to 14 years in the same security colony.
