Rostov-on-Don court rejects all Ali Taziev's motions
The motions lodged by Ali Taziev, including the appointment of an interpreter, and the provision of time for getting acquainted with his case files, have been rejected today by the North-Caucasian Military District Court.
Let us remind you that today the above court has held the first session on the new case against Ali Taziev, nicknamed Magas, accused of committing an attack on Nazran in June 2004.
During the session, Taziev requested an interpreter, saying that he "did not understand many words in Russian."
Despite the request, the judges refused to grant the motion.
"Taziev has a secondary education; he worked in law enforcement bodies and executed many documents in the Russian language; therefore, it can be concluded that Taziev is rather fluent in Russian," Chairing Judge Alexei Magomadov has justified the rejection.
Another motion lodged by Taziev stated that he was not able to get acquainted with all the materials of his case.
"I got acquainted with 40 volumes only. I haven't seen the indictment, since they took it away, together with all my notes. I couldn't file a complaint against it, because I have no pen and no paper. I spoke it out orally for several times, but to no avail," said Taziev.
However, Judge Alexei Magomadov has announced a receipt that Taziev had got acquainted with the 72 volumes of case materials and rejected the motion.
