Nagorno-Karabakh residents expect from new parliament solution of social problems
Being a permanent body, the new parliament of Nagorno-Karabakh should be more active in the spheres of foreign and domestic policies of the country. This opinion has been expressed by local residents. Ordinary citizens expect that the new National Assembly will pay more attention to the social problems of the population.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 3, Nagorno-Karabakh held the voting at the parliamentary elections. On May 4, the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced the preliminary results, according to which five parties won places at the parliament.
Accountant Ellada Arustamyan, a resident of Stepanakert, has stated that she "lays her hopes" on the new parliament.
"The former parliament hardly acted at all; however, who made no mistakes? I expect from the new parliament large good changes, including economic growth and social improvement. And, most importantly, I expect that the new parliament will consolidate peace in our region," the woman has noted.
Gurgen Ovsepyan, a resident of the capital, expects from the new parliament the solution of social problems and, in particular, growth of wages and allocation of housing for young people.
In his turn, pensioner Rafael Airiyan has noted that "the previous parliament hardly took care of the people."
