"Kommersant": Eugenia Vasilieva suspected of illegal sale of MoD's company in Krasnodar Territory
Investigators suspect Eugenia Vasilieva, the former head of the Department of Property Relations of the Ministry of Defence (MoD), of fraud while selling agricultural Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Leningradskoe" in the Krasnodar Territory, controlled by the Russian MoD, the newspaper "Kommersant" reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 6, 2012, Anatoly Serdyukov was dismissed from the post of the Russian Minister of Defence. Then, it became known that the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has instituted five criminal cases on fraudulent schemes with the land, which involved the Russian MoD. The criminal case became known as the "case of 'Oboronservis'". According to investigators, Eugenia Vasilieva, one of the major defendants in the criminal case, abused the office and arranged the sale of the objects belonging to JSC "Oboronservis" at deliberately low prices.
At present, the ICRF carries out the investigation into the sale of agricultural OJSC "Leningradskoe" in the Krasnodar Territory arranged with the involvement of Eugenia Vasilieva, the "Kommersant" reports today.
According to military prosecutors, the deal was prepared and conducted by Eugenia Vasilieva with the involvement of other defendants in the "case of 'Oboronservis'". The damage from the deal exceeded 1.2 billion roubles, the "Kommersant" reports.
