"Kommersant": ICRF to inspect Chechen Investigating Department
After the conflict between Ramzan Kadyrov and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the central office of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) intends to conduct an inspection with regard of officials of the Investigating Department for Chechnya, the "Kommersant" reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Chechen authorities have instituted a criminal case on the murder of Djambulat Dadaev, committed in Grozny on April 19. The man, who was on the federal wanted list, was shot and killed during the operation carried out by power agents of the Stavropol Territory and staff members of the Russian MIA units deployed in Khankala. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has harshly criticized the actions of the power agents. On April 24, Alexander Bastrykin, the Chairman of the ICRF, has cancelled the decision on institution of criminal proceedings against the power agents.
The coming inspection of the Investigating Department for Chechnya is connected with the fact that, according to the central office of the ICRF, Chechen investigators might come under pressure of Ramzan Kadyrov and have hastened to institute criminal proceedings without understanding the situation, the "Kommersant" reports with reference to its sources.
When commenting on the Alexander Bastrykin's decision to close the criminal case, Ramzan Kadyrov has argued he believes the case was initiated lawfully.
