Russian MoJ challenges ECtHR's decision on claim of Zaur Dadaev's relative

The Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has challenged the decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) on payment of 120,000 euros to Larisa Dadaeva, an aunt of the main defendant in the case of the Boris Nemtsov's murder.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in January, the ECtHR obliged the Russian authorities to pay 120,000 euros to the Dadaev and Shavanov families. The claim was filed by Larisa Dadaeva, a sister of the Zaur Dadaev's mother. Larisa Dadaeva claimed that power agents had kidnapped her husband Mairbek Shavanov and his brother Aslambek. The ECtHR upheld Larisa Dadaeva's position.

The Russian MoJ has challenged the ECtHR's decision on the claim filed by the relative of Zaur Dadaev, accused of the murder of the opposition politician Boris Nemtsov, the "Russian Service of the BBC" reported on April 16.

The appeal against the ECtHR's decision has been filed against the background of the statement made by Shamsudin Tsakaev, an advocate of Zaur Dadaev accused of the murder of Boris Nemtsov. According to the advocate, Zaur Dadaev told him that the investigators forced him to testify against his colleague Ruslan Geremeev. The defence of Zaur Dadaev has filed a motion and requested the investigators to re-interrogate him.
