Azerbaijan states its positions being shelled by mortars and machine guns

Mortars and heavy machine guns are used by the Armenian party on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian armed forces, said the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan. According to its version, during the last 24 hours, the ceasefire was violated 39 times.

Azerbaijani militaries have fixed the shelling of their positions in the village of Kemerli and on the nameless heights in the Gazakh District of Azerbaijan by fire delivered from the villages of Noemberyan and Idjevan Districts of Armenia, as well as its positions near the villages of Goranboy, Terter, Agdam, Fizuli and Jabrail Districts of Azerbaijan, the Trend News Agency reports with reference to the Azerbaijani MoD.

Yesterday, on April 13, the Azerbaijani MoD reported 38 acts of shelling, the News-Azerbaijan reports.

The Armenian party has not commented on these statements of the Azerbaijani counterpart.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier the MoD of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) reported 900 violations of the ceasefire on the frontline on April 5-11. The MoD of the NKR reported that Azerbaijani servicemen delivered fire from different types of small arms, grenade launchers and mortars at Armenian positions.
