"Kommersant": Zaur Dadaev ready to undergo polygraph test

Zaur Dadaev, accused of killing Boris Nemtsov, has expressed his intention to undergo a lie detector (polygraph) test in order to prove his innocence, the "Kommersant" has reported today.

Boris Nemtsov was shot and killed in Moscow on February 27. Five persons, including Zaur Dadaev, Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, were detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder and put under arrest.

On April 13, Dadaev, who is kept at the "Lefortovo" SIZO (pre-trial prison), was visited for the first time by his advocate Shamsudin Tsakaev. When asked about his readiness to undergo a polygraph test, he replied in the affirmative, stating his innocence to the crime, Sergey Mashkov writes in his article.

The advocate, who was hired by Dadaev's relatives, expects that the motion will be supported not only by investigators, but by the victims' representative, who is also interested in establishing the truth in the resonant criminal case, either.

"Of course, for the investigation of the crime committed under Part 2, Article 105 of the Criminal Code (a murder committed by a group of persons), a defendant's confession is not enough; it should be supported by other evidences. However I'm sceptical about the use of polygraph," said Vadim Prokhorov, a representative of the Nemtsov family.
