Defence of figurants in Nemtsov's murder case to challenge their clients' arrest
The defence of Shagid Gubashev and Khamzat Bakhaev accused in the murder of Boris Nemtsov intends to challenge the decision of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow for their re-arrest.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 6, Khamzat Bakhaev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, and Shagid Gubashev accused of involvement in the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov were brought to the court session, which was to decide on pre-trial restriction measure against them. The Court has announced the decision to arrest all three suspects till April 28.
Ilya Trofimov, an advocate of Shagid Gubashev, has declared the intention to challenge the Court's decision of the arrest of Shagid Gubashev as unfounded.
According to Anton Migunov, the investigator for very serious cases, there are reasons to believe that Shagid Gubashev may hide from investigators.
Earlier, on April 6, the Basmanny Court announced the pre-trial restriction measure for Khamzat Bakhaev in the form of arrest. His advocate has also announced the intention to appeal against the Court's decision.
Besides, on April 6, the Court considered the request for the arrest of Tamerlan Eskerkhanov. Olga Golub, the second defender of Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, asked the Court to choose pre-trial restriction measure for her client in the form of home arrest.
However, the Judge has dismissed the motions filed by the defence of the defendant and announced the decision to arrest Tamerlan Eskerkhanov.
