Dadaev rejects his earlier confession of killing Nemtsov

Today, at the Moscow City Court (MCC) Zaur Dadaev has refuted his earlier testimony and declared his innocence in the murder of a Russian politician Boris Nemtsov.

Boris Nemtsov was shot and killed in Moscow on February 27. Five persons, including Zaur Dadaev, Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, were detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder. They would not plead guilty.

"My testimony was given under pressure and at dictation. There are no witnesses; and I have an alibi – at the moment of the murder I was at home," the TASS quotes Dadaev as saying.

Besides, Zaur Dadaev has stated that on March 5 this year he was kidnapped in the city of Magas, and two days later delivered to the building of the Investigating Committee in Moscow.

"I was kidnapped by unidentified persons; and under a murder threat addressed to me and my friend, I gave the testimony at their dictation," Zaur Dadaev has concluded.

After Dadaev's speech, the investigator said that law enforcement bodies have other evidence that cannot be disclosed for secrecy reasons.

"His involvement is confirmed not only by his testimony of confession, but also by testimonies of witnesses and results of forensic examinations," the "Interfax" quotes a source from the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) as saying.
