Advocates of defendants in case of terror act in Pyatigorsk cannot examine case materials

Till present, none of advocates of defendants in the case of terror act in Pyatigorsk in 2013 has been given the chance to examine the materials of the criminal case. This was reported by advocate Gadjimurad Izmailov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 27, 2013, a car was blown up not far from the building of the road police (known as GIBDD) of Pyatigorsk. As a result, three passers-by were killed. The explosion was recognized as a terror act. Several persons were detained in the case, including Murad Ataev, a native of Azerbaijan, Ramazan Khalizov and Vladimir Khalizov, natives of the Stavropol Territory, and Shamil Abdulazizov, Shamil Gazimagomedov, and Magomed Ibragimov, natives of Dagestan. All six men are under arrest. On March 24, the North-Caucasian Military District Court started the consideration of the case. According to Alena Katkalo, the press secretary of the Military Court, Murad Ataev and Shamil Abdulazizov pleaded guilty.

"We do not even have the full text of the indictment, and I am not talking about the case materials," said advocate Gadjimurad Izmailov, who entered into an agreement with relatives of Shamil Abdulazizov, a resident of Khasavyurt.

On March 25, the North-Caucasus Military District Court continued the hearings on the case of the terror act.

According to Gadjimurad Izmailov, the victims of the terror act are mostly those people, whose property was damaged as a result of the terror act. In the course of the trial, they file civil claims for damage done.

The advocate has added that he failed to visit his client Shamil Abdulazizov at the SIZO (pre-trial prison).
