In Tbilisi, participants of rally demand resignation of government
In Tbilisi, members and followers of the NGO "Free Zone", supporting the of the ex-President Mikhail Saakashvili's "United National Movement" (UNM) Party, have organized a protest action in front of the "Holiday Inn" Hotel, while it hosted the press conference of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the oppositional UNM declared the beginning of consultations with MPs concerning announcement of distrust to the government of Georgia. To start the procedure, the UNM misses 10 votes. On March 21, in Tbilisi, the UNM held a large-scale rally to demand the resignation of the government. According to various sources, the rally was attended by 10,000-50,000 people from all the regions of Georgia.
On March 26, the rally participants demanded the resignation of the government and the Prime Minister. They have also spoken against the actions of Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the ruling coalition "Georgian Dream". According to the opposition, he continues to rule the country "behind the scenes", the "News-Georgia" reports.
Public order at the place of the protest action was provided by law enforcers.
