Sergey Krivenko: list of Russian contract soldiers killed in Ukraine includes mostly natives of Dagestan

The list of nine Russian soldiers killed during the combat actions in the territory of Ukraine includes mostly of natives of Dagestan. This was reported by Sergey Krivenko, a member of the Presidential Council for Civil Society Institutions and Human Rights (HRC). On the single day of August 13, about 100 Russian soldiers were killed in Ukraine during the combat actions, and more than 300 soldiers were wounded, Sergey Krivenko reports with reference to Lyudmila Bogatenkova, the head of the Committee of Soldiers' Mothers "Mothers from Kuma River Area".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 25, Sergey Krivenko and Ella Polyakova, members of the HRC, appealed to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) with a request to check the information that nine contract soldiers of the 18th Motorized Rifle Brigade perished in the vicinities of the military training ground in the Rostov Region.

Lyudmila Bogatenkova states that the above contract soldiers took part in combat actions in Ukraine. She has reported that the Committee of Soldiers' Mothers has got the list of the killed and wounded soldiers. Lyudmila Bogatenkova has also noted that the perished soldiers were natives of the republics of Northern Caucasus.

According to Sergey Krivenko, at present, human rights defenders report on a list of nine names, mostly natives of Dagestan. He has stressed that to send soldiers to take part in combat actions in the territory of another state in the situation where no war has been officially announced is a criminal order.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that relatives of Chechen residents, who perished in Donbas, have to sign letters on non-disclosure of the circumstances of their deaths. Residents of Chechnya claim that local power agents were promised large cash payments for their participation in combat actions in Ukraine as volunteers and that in case of their deaths, their families are to be paid monetary compensation.
