Organizers state 50,000 protesters in Tbilisi
The organizers of the today's protest action in Tbilisi with a demand of resignation of the government state that it was attended by 50,000 people.
"Today, people from all regions of Georgia came here to force the incompetent government to resign. Today we have enough protesters here, to force the authorities to listen to people's will. People come out to hold protest, when they are compelled to do so by the authorities, who are unable to solve their basic problems," said Nika Meliya, the leader of the rally.
However, the "Interfax" reports, referring to its independent experts (without naming them), that the rally was about 10,000 strong.
In his turn, the Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has condemned the action in Tbilisi, saying that it was an attempt of "destructive forces" aimed at "setting up artificial obstacles on our country's way to progress."
