Zaur Dadaev arrived in Moscow six months prior to Boris Nemtsov's murder

Zaur Dadaev, whom investigators believe to be a direct executor of the Boris Nemtsov's murder in Moscow, has arrived to the Russian capital from Grozny six months ago. This has been reported by his former colleague, who keeps in touch with Zaur Dadaev, and relatives of the man suspected of the murder of Boris Nemtsov, the "RBC" reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 27, opposition politician Boris Nemtsov was shot and killed in Moscow. Five persons, including Zaur Dadaev, Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, were detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder. Zaur Dadaev and Anzor Gubashev have got the status of the defendants, and investigators call them direct executors of the Boris Nemtsov's murder. The figurants of the case plead not guilty. On March 10, Gubashev brothers and Zaur Dadaev complained to human rights defenders about being tortured by law enforcers.

Until present, it was thought that being the deputy commander of the battalion "Sever" (North) till February 28, Zaur Dadaev lived in Grozny in military barracks and visited Moscow for a month vacation from January to February.

With reference to the former colleague of Zaur Dadaev, the "RBC" reports that the man suspected of the Boris Nemtsov's murder lived in Moscow with Ruslan Geremeev, the Major of the first squadron of the battalion "Sever", and both were going to get a job, presumably, in one of the security bureaus owned by a relative of Ruslan Geremeev.

Meanwhile, the source has expressed his confidence that Zaur Dadaev could not commit the murder of Boris Nemtsov. "Zaur Dadaev used to be a perfect shooter. So, four hits out of seven shots were impossible for him," the source has noted. Besides, the source has also said that in case if the battalion fighter was going to kill, he would have used the weapon seized from militants during special operations and would not have sought cartridges at depots.
