Member of Moscow POC questioned as witness in Nemtsov's murder case
Andrei Babushkin, a member of the Moscow Public Oversight Commission (POC), was questioned as a witness in the murder case of Boris Nemtsov. The interrogation was associated with his visiting Gubashev brothers and Zaur Dadaev at the SIZO "Lefortovo", said Babushkin.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 10, Gubashev brothers and Zaur Dadaev told Eva Merkachova and Andrei Babushkin, the POC members, who visited them at SIZO "Lefortovo", that they were tortured after detention and that they were not involved in the crime. The report, made by Babushkin, concludes that "there are reasonable grounds to believe that torture was applied to Gubashev brothers and Dadaev." However, Anton Tsvetkov, the head of the Moscow POC, said that "no signs of torture were fixed."
According to official data, five persons are in custody on suspicion of committing the murder of Nemtsov. On March 8, the Basmanny Court of Moscow satisfied the request of investigators and arrested Zaur Dadaev, Anzor Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov and Shagid Gubashev. Zaur Dadaev and Anzor Gubashev have been already charged with the murder.
