Dadaev was fired from MIA on the following day after Nemtsov's murder

Zaur Dadaev, accused of killing the politician Boris Nemtsov, was dismissed from the battalion "Sever" on February 28. In the battalion, he took the post of Deputy Regiment Commander; and his former colleagues refuse to believe in his involvement in the murder, a source from power structures of Chechnya told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

On March 7, the "Caucasian Knot" received information about Zaur Dadaev's service in the battalion "Sever". On March 9, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov wrote on his page in the social network "Instagram" that Dadaev had retired from the Internal Troops of the Russia's MIA.

According to Vasily Panchenkov, the head of the press service of the above Internal Troops, Dadaev submitted his resignation application back on December 23, 2014.

Dadaev had served in law enforcement bodies for about 11 years; and in the battalion "Sever" – since its formation in 2006; and until recently he served as Deputy Commander of the Regiment, said a source from the power structures of Chechnya. The regiment is under command of Hero of Russia Alibek Delimkhanov, a younger brother of Adam Delimkhanov, an MP of the Russian State Duma and Kadyrov's adviser, said the source, adding that Dadaev's former colleagues do not believe in his involvement in the murder. "Dadaev has sick mother; and he could go to Moscow in order to solve the issue of her treatment," he said.
