Investigators blame Bogatenkova's advocates of protracting preliminary inquiry
Lyudmila Bogatenkova, the Chair of the Stavropol Committee of Soldiers' Mothers named "Prikumye Mothers", and her advocates have not begun to get acquainted with the materials of the criminal case opened against the woman. Investigators accuse the advocates of protracting the preliminary investigation.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Lyudmila Bogatenkova, 74, who is living in Budyonnovsk, is accused of a fraud, but denies her guilt and associates her persecution with her professional activities.
Lyudmila Bogatenkova investigated circumstances of Russian soldiers' deaths during combat actions in Ukraine in July and August 2014. In August, she delivered information about nine Russian soldiers, who were declared dead in the Rostov Region, to the Presidential Human Rights Council.
Lyudmila Bogatenkova has not read the case files yet. She reported that on February 13 she was supposed to come to the investigator, but for health reasons she was unable to do it, and presented a certificate and a petition.
"On the same day, around 7:30 p.m., the investigator came to my home and said that would write out summon for me for February 14. To my bewilderment on how I could come in this state of health, he demanded from me to present another medical certificate," Lyudmila Bogatenkova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
She continues asserting that her prosecution aims to liquidate the organization headed by her.
