Defenders of Gamlet Kelbisov and Rustam Gabibov ask Ella Pamfilova to help find their clients

Advocates of Derbent residents Gamlet Kelbisov and Rustam Gabibov, arrested on suspicion of murder, have appealed to Ella Pamfilova, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation. In their appeal, the advocates have asked Ella Pamfilova for assistance in finding their clients and restoring their right for defence.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Gamlet Kelbisov and Rustam Gabibov, both born in 1980, were detained on December 26, 2014. The Derbent residents are suspected of involvement in the murder committed in Moscow. However, after the detention of the suspects, the advocates and the relatives of the detainees could not find out the whereabouts of Gamlet Kelbisov and Rustam Gabibov. According to the preliminary information, the men are being kept at the SIZO (pre-trial prison) of Vladikavkaz. Their relatives believe that the detainees are being subjected to torture and other illegal methods of investigation.

Sapiyat Magomedova and Nazhibat Ramazanova, the advocates, representing the interests of the detainees, sent the written appeal to Ella Pamfilova on February 16.

Gamlet Kelbisov and Rustam Gabibov may be subjected to torture and abuse to force them to incriminate themselves. This was stated by the advocates in their appeal, a copy of which became available to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
