In KBR, over 80 persons questioned on the murder of journalist Timur Kuashev

As reported by a member of the investigative team, over 80 people were interrogated; and 9 volumes of case files have been collected on the murder case of journalist and social activist from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) Timur Kuashev.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that forensic doctors failed to establish the cause of the journalist's death, but, according to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), a trace of some injection was found on his body.

According to the investigator, Timur Kuashev's murder case is under special control of the Investigating Department of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) and the ICRF.

The have also established the people, with whom the journalist had had contacts in the neighbouring republics – Ingushetia and Dagestan. They will be questioned by local investigators.

Let us note here that on December 5 the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was also questioned as a witness in the case.

According to investigators, on the fact of Kuashev's death a repeated forensic examination was appointed to be conducted by the Russian Forensic Centre at the Public Health Ministry.

According to the investigator, the murder with the use of injection is the only case throughout Russia since 2005.

Let us note here that the death of journalist caused a great public resonance. Many organizations, namely, the OSCE, UNESCO, Russian Union of Journalists, as well as many prominent public and political figures demand an objective and impartial investigation into Kuashev's death.
