Victim of explosion at fuelling station in Makhachkala dies in hospital

One of the victims of the explosion at a fuelling station in Makhachkala has died in hospital, the Burn Centre of the Dagestani National Clinical Hospital reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 8, an explosion occurred in the territory of the fuelling stations in Makhachkala, and then the fire started. Residents of nearby houses were evacuated. Four persons were taken to the hospital from the scene, and three of them were in serious condition.

Two victims were to be transported to Moscow today. However, a 50-year-old man, one of the victims brought to the Burn Centre, died on Tuesday, the "Chernovik" (Draft) weekly reports.

According to a source from the hospital, the other two victims in critical condition are still in the resuscitation unit of the Burn Centre. One of the victims got burns of about 70% of the body surface, and the other one more than 30%.

Earlier, it has been reported that the fourth victim was a local woman, who got shrapnel wounds as a result of the explosion. She was sent home after she had been rendered necessary medical assistance at the Dagestani Trauma Centre.
