During week of June 2-8, 2014, 4 persons were killed in armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of June 2-8, 2014, at least 4 persons were killed and 12 persons were wounded in the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of calculations made by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The death toll includes two civilians and one suspected member of armed underground in Dagestan and one law enforcer in Ingushetia.

Special and counterterrorist operations

On June 6, unidentified persons shelled from firearms the checkpoint of the Central Republican Hospital in Nazran. As a result of the shelling, four staff members of the temporary operative group of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) were wounded.

The wounded policemen were guarding the hospital morgue with the bodies of members of the armed underground, killed during the special operation in the village of Sagopshi.

On June 7, law enforcers detained two persons suspected of shooting the Central Republican Hospital.

Bombings and terror acts

On June 4, a regime of counterterrorist operation (CTO) was introduced in three villages of the Kizlyar District of Dagestan. Law enforcers organized a search for suspected militants in the forest between the villages of Kosyakino, Kuznetsovka, and Pervokizlyarskoe. At night, in the forest between the villages of Pervokizlyarskoe and Kosyakino, the law enforcers encountered two armed men. As a result of the shootout, one of the suspected militants was killed, and the second managed to escape. The man killed during the special operation in the Kizlyar District of Dagestan was pre-identified as Ramzan Magomedov, the leader of the "Babayurt" militant grouping. As a result of the armed clash, one fighter of the special forces was wounded.

On June 2, at about 1:30 p.m. Moscow time, an unidentified explosive device detonated while a military convoy was driving down the highway near the village of Berd-Yurt in the Sunzha District of Ingushetia. As a result of the explosion, two military men got various bodily injuries and were brought to the military hospital in Vladikavkaz.

At about 2:30 p.m. Moscow time, the second explosion occurred in the same area. As a result of the explosion, a soldier of a military unit and five policemen got mine shrapnel wounds of varying severity. They were hospitalized to the Sunzha Central Regional Hospital. Later, a soldier of the internal troops of the Russian MIA, who was severely wounded in the first explosion, died in hospital.

Attacks on civilians

On June 1, in the village of Temiraul of the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, unidentified men from a VAZ-217030 Priora car shelled a Granta car, driven by a 28-year-old employee of the gas company "Dagestantransgaz". The victim died at the place from his injuries.

At night of June 2, in the village of Komsomolskoe of the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, Akhtubek Malaev, a teacher of a rural school located in the village of Shauri of the Tsuntin District, was attacked. A masked man has entered the house and shot and killed the teacher. In 2003, the victim took part in the special operation to eliminate a militant grouping led by Ruslan Gelaev. This was reported by a source from the administration of the Tsuntin District. According to the source, prior to his murder, the victim was receiving threats.

Detentions

On June 2, Imangazali Magomedov, a resident of the village of Shaumyan of the Kizlyar District of Dagestan, was detained. The man was detained when he was working (he was a taxi driver). After that, his whereabouts has not been officially revealed until June 6. On June 2, his house and his mother's house located in the village of Shaumyan were searched. At the very house of Imangazali Magomedov, law enforcers found nothing. However, in the house of the detainee's mother, they allegedly found weapon under an awning. According to the advocate of Imangazali Magomedov, the search was carried out without any title documents.

According to a source from the Kizlyar ROVD (District Interior Division), the law enforcers are checking whether the detainee is a member of the illegal armed formations (IAFs). The official indictment has not yet been brought against him.
