Novosibirsk public ask Abdulatipov to supervise inquiry into beating NSMU student by native of Dagestan
Public activists of Novosibirsk have asked the head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov to control the inquiry into the beating of Christina Kumeda, a student of the Novosibirsk State Medical University (NSMU) by a native of Dagestan Said Kapiev, the movement named "Citizens' Patrol" has reported today.
A criminal case was opened against Kapiev after it was reported that he beat Kumeda after she had insulted his mother in the correspondence on the social network.
Rostislav Antonov, the head of the "Citizens' Patrol", believes that Kapiev could abscond in Dagestan; therefore, activists have asked Abdulatipov, through official accounts in social networks and by e-mail, to supervise the investigation of this case.
On November 23, residents of Novosibirsk held an unauthorized mass action, where they demanded to expel Kapiev from the university, says the official website of the Chief Department of the MIA of the Novosibirsk Region.
However, Ivan Goncharov, Vice-Rector for General Affairs of the NSMU, said today that the issue of Kapiev's dismissal will be considered only after the end of the investigation of the criminal case.
