The court in Nalchik has begun hearing the case regarding the preparation of terrorist attacks in Dagestan.

The Southern District Military Court in Nalchik has begun field hearings in the case of 11 residents of Dagestan who were preparing terrorist attacks on the facilities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the FSB in Dagestan. The process is taking place in a closed mode.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on April 15, it became known that the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don received a case regarding the preparation of terrorist acts in Dagestan in 2024, with 11 individuals involved. To expedite the process, it was decided to hold the first court session in Nalchik.

The Southern District Military Court has begun reviewing the criminal case against 11 individuals who planned terrorist attacks in Dagestan, reports "Interfax" citing its source.

According to the indictment, the defendants planned terrorist attacks to intimidate the population, acquiring weapons and ammunition. Additionally, in the summer of 2024, they purchased substances and items for making explosives.

As targets for the terrorist attacks, the accused identified a military unit of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in Kizlyar, as well as the buildings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the FSB in Dagestan. They manufactured homemade explosive devices and transported them to a hideout, but were detained after FSB officers discovered a cache of weapons and explosives.

Among the defendants are Yamlikhan Aliyev, Samir Amayev, Kasum Akuev, Alibek Alibekov, Murtazali Magomedov, and Ali Aliyev (all included in the list of terrorists and extremists by Rosfinmonitoring), as well as Magomed Muridbekov, Magomed Amayev, Shamil Abubakarov, Rustam Dyshniev, and Artur Akhmedov, informs "Kommersant".

According to the investigation, preparations for the terrorist attacks began in 2022. The organizer of the group was Yamlikhan Aliyev, who gathered like-minded individuals, assigned roles, and identified the targets for future attacks. One of his closest associates is believed to be Magomed Muridbekov.

Most of the defendants had secondary or higher education, worked in construction, private security companies, or were engaged in business. Many were married and raising children. The youngest defendant, Alibek Alibekov, is 20 years old. The organizer of the terrorist group graduated from university with a degree in "geological exploration of oil and gas" and then worked in private security for several years.

According to the investigation, meetings took place at Yamlikhan Aliyev's house. There, roles were assigned, future terrorist attacks were discussed, and methods of acquiring weapons were planned. The participants saved money from their personal incomes into a common fund for preparations. They then began purchasing weapons and components for making explosive devices, some of which were ordered from marketplaces.

The finished bombs, ammunition, and chemical substances were stored in equipped hideouts in wastelands, utility buildings, garages, and even in a cemetery. In total, the prosecution claims they prepared 20 bags of chemical components weighing 50 kilograms each.

Evidence in the case includes bank documents, information about purchases from marketplaces, mobile phone data, GPS coordinates of hideouts, as well as results from DNA and chemical examinations.

Depending on their roles, the defendants are charged with organizing and participating in a terrorist community, aiding terrorist activities, preparing for a terrorist act, illegal trafficking of weapons and explosives, as well as illegal manufacturing of explosives and explosive devices. For the most serious charges, they face life imprisonment.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Nariman Dzhaparov, a resident of Stavropol and a native of Dagestan, to 17 years in prison for preparing a terrorist act and treason.
