In Dagestan, Sabina and Patimat Abakarova to stay in custody, their advocate reports

The period of detention in custody to Sabina and Patimat Abakarova, suspected of illegal possession of weapons, has been extended. This was reported by Israfil Khadadov, an advocate of the Abakarova sisters.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already reported that on June 7, law enforcers announced that two "shakhid belts" were found in houses in Makhachkala. According to the operative information, Patimat and Sabina Abakarova were involved in storage of those improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The women were common-law wives of leaders of the so-called "Makhachkala" grouping who were killed earlier. Relatives of the women stated that the "shakhid belts" were planted.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Israfil Khadadov, an advocate of the Bar Association "Kavkaz", that the period of detention in custody to Sabina Abakarova was extended for 13 days, and to Patimat Abakarova for a month.

Earlier, it was reported by a representative of the Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for Dagestan that the information about the involvement of the Abakarova sisters in the militants' activities was not confirmed, and the criminal case was brought to the police for investigation. However, on August 7, the Investigating Department of the ICRF for Dagestan issued a statement that the criminal cases against Patimat and Sabina Abakarova were still under investigation carried out by investigators of the Investigating Department.
