Trial on recognition of the book "The International Tribunal for Chechnya" rescheduled for July 2
The session on the case of the recognition of the monograph "The International Tribunal for Chechnya" to be an extremist material of the Dzerzhinsk District Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region has been postponed till July 2, because of non-appearance of representatives of the prosecutor's office, said Alexander Manov, the advocate of Stanislav Dmitrievsky, one of the authors of the book.
The two-volume work by Stanislav Dmitrievsky, Bogdan Gvarieli and Oksana Chelysheva "The International Tribunal for Chechnya. Legal Prospects of Bringing to Individual Criminal Responsibility of Suspects of Committing War Crimes and Crimes against Humanity during Armed Conflict in the Chechen Republic" was presented in Moscow in 2009 and deals with the crimes committed during the armed conflict in Chechnya. According to the prosecution, the information contained in the book is aimed at humiliation of a group of people and triggering action against these people. According to Stanislav Dmitrievsky, the claims to the content of the book are of political nature.
"The prosecutor's office has pretended that they didn't know about the session. Personally, I was called and received a summons. Finally, there is a website, listing all the cases to be heard. When we got through to prosecutors, we found out that they were not aware of the trial," said Alexander Manov.
The press service of the Prosecutor's Office of Nizhny Novgorod told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the heard about the non-appearance and the session in general for the first time.
