MfE declares restoration of life support infrastructure in Krymsk; volunteers disagree

All the life support systems in the city of Krymsk, affected by flood, operate in the normal mode, Colonel-General Yuri Kovalyov, Director of the Department for Regional Policy of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), said on July 21. Volunteers disagree with the statement.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that strongest rainstorms on July 6-7 triggered a catastrophic flood in the Krasnodar Territory. According to the ICRF, 165 people died. According to recent reports, six persons are missing. On July 21, it became known that two persons earlier regarded as missing were found alive and safe, said the website of the MIA for the Krasnodar Territory.

According to the MfE, Krymsk, which had suffered most, has completely restored electricity and gas supplies and almost completely the water supply (so far, three multi-storey houses are partially without water); and the sewage system has been restored, says the MfE's report dated July 20.

The information about complete restoration of power supply does not correspond to reality, said Sergey Kolnichenko, a Deputy of the Krymsk District from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF).

According to Olga Moskalenko, a coordinator of help to the victims, water is supplied to the city, but it cannot be used for cooking and drinking.

The city is supplied with water, gas and electricity not at the full scale, said Natalia Andreeva, the coordinator of volunteers' camp "Dobry Lager" (Camp Good).

Doctors continue vaccinating the population. According to the authorities, in total 132,912 vaccinations were made, including to employees of the MfE (3624 vaccination) and children (30,034 vaccinations). Also, psychological help is rendered: in total, 11,540 people addressed for such help.

Humanitarian aid continues to come to victims of Krymsk. According to the MfE, over the past few days the population received 4365.9 tons of humanitarian goods.
