An action of the "Georgian Dream" passed off in Gori

In the evening of July, 15, a meeting of many thousands supporters of oppositional coalition the "Georgian Dream" headed by billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvily was held in the town of Gori.

It should be reminded that the municipal Administration of Gori offered the "Georgian Dream" political coalition a square in front of students' Cultural and educational center for holding the action on July, 15.

Speaking at the meeting held within the framework of election campaign Ivanishvili declared that the population of Shida Kartli district and the town of Gori who went through the war of 2008 had no hatred for the Ossetians, moreover, they would do their best for drawing together the Georgian and the Ossetian peoples.

"Our authorities' actions during those tragic days are beneath criticism. Unlike these authorities, we do see the ways to solve the conflicts. We will establish a direct contact with the Ossetians and the Abkhazians", Ivanishvili said.

According to him, one of the first steps to re-establish confidence with the Ossetians after the "Georgian Dream" coalition comes into power will be renewal of Ergnet market near Tskhinvali where the Georgians and the Ossetians traded before it was closed by the present-day authorities. Ivanishvili criticized the authorities for their attitude towards refugees and veterans of wars.

The leader of the opposition said that "Saakashvili since the first day of his government started drawing a border-line in the community dividing it into his supporters and his enemies". "We will prevent confrontation in our society. We will come into power without fail at the forthcoming election and replace this anti-national government", Ivanishvili declared.

Representatives of the "Georgian Dream" coalition stated that over 15 thousand of their supporters took part in the meeting in Gori, "Interfax" reports.

"International Community for fair election and democracy" and Association of Young Lawyers of Georgia observed the "Georgian Dream's" action in Gori. The surveillance was held within the framework of long-term monitoring of the election process", News.Ge reports.
