Oleg Orlov: by his claim, Andrei Krasnenkov tried to take revenge for loosing "Kadyrov vs. Orlov" case

The judge's decision to dismiss a claim on protection of business reputation, filed by Andrei Krasnenkov, the lawyer of the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, is fair. This was stated by representatives of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial". Andrei Krasnenkov is surprised by the judge's decision and intends to challenge it.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Andrei Krasnenkov filed a civil lawsuit yet in the end of 2010. However, on February 14, 2011, the proceedings in the case were suspended at the request of the very plaintiff: he asserted that part of the information, necessary to justify the claim, would be used during the debate on the criminal case "Kadyrov vs. Orlov", and that he would not like to prematurely voice his arguments. Today, the court decided to dismiss the lawsuit.

According to Oleg Orlov, today, Judge Fedosova made a just decision. "The court revealed all the absurdity of the claims, presented by the plaintiff, and the just decision was made, since the arguments of the defendant, that was, the HRC "Memorial", were so convincing and precise that it was impossible to defeat them," said Oleg Orlov in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" after the court session.

According to Oleg Orlov, "by his lawsuit, the lawyer Krasnenkov tried to get moral satisfaction after losing the case 'Kadyrov vs. Orlov'."

"Why did he need a trial with the Human Rights Centre? Most likely, he wished to get moral compensation for a lost process in criminal charges, filed against me. Krasnenkov went to the court with completely losing position, since his statements in the media contained inaccuracies," Oleg Orlov stated.

Alexander Cherkasov, the head of the HRC "Memorial", also considers the judge's decision as fair.

In his turn, the lawyer Andrei Krasnenkov stated that he was surprised by the Judge Fedosova's decision.

"I believe that the Judge's decision was affected by the phrase in the newspaper 'Kommersant' that I did not pronounce, and now I intend to file an appeal. I think that the trial has been subjected to time restrictions, since such processes are closely monitored by the Moscow City Court, which requires that such processes took no more than two months. I tried to file a motion to postpone the consideration of the case; however, it was too late the stage of the debate was underway," Andrei Krasnenkov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent after the court session.

In the nearest future, the lawyer intends to lodge an appeal to the Moscow City Court.

"Besides, I will present additional evidence to the Moscow City Court," he stated.
