Ex-head of "Chechengazprom" suspected of embezzling 35 million roubles

The case against Vakhid Bersanov, ex-head of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise (FSUE) "Chechengazprom", accused of fraud in the amount of 35 million roubles, was brought to the court. This was reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia.

According to prosecutors, being the general Director of FSUE "Chechengazprom", Vakhid Bersanov entered into an agreement with managers of two other companies Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Mamashasty" and LLC "Inchest" and concluded with them agreements on gas distribution stations and gas pipelines.

The enterprises prepare invoices and acts, showing actually not-performed works and overstated volumes and costs of works for more than 35 million roubles. By using forged payment documents, Vakhid Bersanov ensured transfer of the money to the current accounts of the companies, the statement, posted on the website of the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia, reports.

Besides, according to the General Prosecutor's Office, in 2003-2004, the courts of the republic obliged FSUE "Chechengazprom" to pay wages for the period of enforced idleness and compensation for moral damages to workers of the enterprise in total amount of more than 5 million roubles. However, according to the General Prosecutor's Office, Vakhid Bersanov, being General Director of FSUE "Chechengazprom", failed to fulfil the decisions of the courts.

The General Prosecutor's Office has also noted that Vakhid Basanov had been hiding from investigators for a long time and in 2005 he was put on the international wanted list. Trying to avoid responsibility, he used the passport, issued in the name of Alikhan Aliev, and in February 2012, he was detained by policemen during a document check. The criminal case was brought to the Lenin District Court of Grozny.
