No bomb detected in Moscow-Nalchik train; mining was reported by woman registered at narcologist

The information that the Moscow-Nalchik train was mined proved to be false; the women who had reported about the bomb is registered at the narcology service, said Khazret Zhangeriev, head of the Linear Department of Internal Affairs on Transport.

As reported earlier, on May 16, the MIA bodies of the KBR received a call from a woman-resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, who reported that the Moscow-Nalchik train had been mined. When asked which train - Moscow-Nalchik or Nalchik-Moscow, those already en route, or those just departed, - she could not give the details.

The authorities had to stop all the trains moving along this route on that day and inspect them. Nothing suspicious was found. The calling woman was found. She stated that her 'inner voice' had prompted her that the train was mined. It turned out that the woman suffers from chronic alcoholism and is registered at the drug treatment clinic.

"At present, the loss caused by her actions is calculated," said Zhangeriev. "Then, the issue will be considered to bring her to liability under Article 207 of the Criminal Code - 'knowingly false information about a terror act'." According to his story, the trains were detained for several hours; the railway traffic schedule was broken.

The woman faces a fine or restriction of freedom for up to two years.
