Investigation reveals suspect of murdering Chuvashov, judge of Moscow City Court

The Moscow Court has issued a warrant in absentia to arrest Alexei Korshunov, 28, a Muscovite and the alleged killer of Eduard Chuvashov, a Moscow City Court judge, in April 2010. According to the investigation the reason of the murder was the judge's participation in judicial processes on extremist crimes.

The Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) said that now Korshunov is on the search list, as he hides from the bodies of preliminary investigation. Besides, investigators continue searching other individuals, who may have to do with Chuvashov's murder.

Charges have been moved against Korshunov under the article of "attempt on life of the person administering justice or preliminary investigation". According to the ICRF, the accused person had committed the murder out of revenge for the judge's execution of justice in criminal cases and sentencing extremists, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The Judge of the Moscow City Court Chuvashov was shot dead on April 12 in central Moscow, in the doorway of the building where he lived. Then, investigators found gunman's fingerprints and cigarette butts in the place of the murder. Furthermore, the gunman was captured by a surveillance video camera.

During his work at the Moscow City Court, Judge Chuvashov had considered more than 20 criminal cases, as a rule, on grave and especially grave crimes - murders, including those on ethnic grounds. In particular, he ran the cases of the "White Wolves" grouping and the gang of nationalists headed by Artur Ryno and Pavel Skachevskiy.
