Georgia's MIA accuses Russian officer of preparing terror act at "Imedi" TV Company

Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia has disseminated an official statement, saying that the attack on the "Imedi" TV Company, when explosive devices were neutralized next to the building of the Company, had been prepared under instruction of the Russian military officer Evgeniy Borisov and a Georgian citizen Murman Tskhadaya.

It was reported earlier that on February 23 sappers de-mined two self-made bombs with RDX (hexogen), which were found in the territory adjacent to the building of the "Imedi" in Tbilisi. One of the devices was found by law enforcers near the car park of the TV Centre, the second one was inside a metal barrel put some 10-15 meters away from the main entrance to the building. It became known today that the third bomb was found.

"Based on additional evidences of earlier detained Gogita Arkaniya, it became known that in October 2010 he planted the bombs in combat readiness in the territory of the "Imedi". The explosive devices were de-mined by employees of the De-Mining Department of the Special Operations Centre of Georgian MIA," runs the MIA's statement.

The "Rustavi-2" TV Company showed a MIA's operative video, where perpetrators of terror acts Gogita Arkaniya demonstrated his whole way to the "Imedi". According to his story, last October he brought three explosive devices in a taxi and planted them in the yard of the broadcaster. The bombs should have blown up in an hour, but failed. According to the "Rustavi-2" the bombs were made with the use of RDX (hexogen).

So far, there is no Russia's reaction to the statement of the Georgian MIA.
