Ten persons detained as suspects of preparing terror acts in Moscow

Ten suspects of preparing a series of terror acts on the New Year holidays in Moscow have been detained; seven of them have been charged.

Let us remind you that on December 31 an explosion in the territory of the shooting club in Kuzminki in Moscow killed a young woman. Supposedly, a self-made explosive device, which was prepared for a terror act, got triggered. On January 5, 2011, in Volgograd, a female native of Chechnya was detained on suspicion of involvement in that explosion. On January 29 it became known that a group of persons possibly involved in the explosion was detained in Dagestan; on January 31, they were arrested by the Basmanny Court in Moscow for the period of investigation.

As reported earlier by the "Caucasian Knot", on January 31, within the same criminal case, law enforcement officials of Dagestan conducted searches in Izberbash. They found guns and ammunition, and detained several persons.

According to Vladimir Markin, spokesman of the ICPO, most of the detainees under the criminal case are natives of Dagestan, the Radio Liberty reports.

In particular, Mr Markov said that Arthur Magomedov, a native of Dagestan, was arrested. Other names were not officially announced, the "Interfax" reports.

Inspectors had examined the link between the explosion in Kuzminki and the terror act on January 24 at Moscow Domodedovo Airport, where 36 persons were killed; however, they concluded that the arrested group had no direct relation to the terror act at the airport.
