Oppositionist's relatives wounded in Georgia
Today in Tbilisi, family members of Amiran Iobashvili, an activist of the opposition "Georgian Party", were wounded from firearms.
The incident occurred near the foreign exchange kiosk, where Amiran's son and daughter-in-law - Koka Iobashvili and Ani Kiknadze - work. As reported by Amiran Iobashvili, the shooting was opened when his relatives were coming out of the kiosk. The victims were taken to the Republic's Hospital, where they received the appropriate help.
The "Gazeta.Ru" writes that Amiran Iobashvili linked the incident with his political activities among the opposition.
Let us remind you that in May 2008 Amiran Iobashvili was severely beaten near his home by five unidentified persons in masks. He was taken to hospital with brain concussion. In those days, after the parliamentary elections in Georgia on May 21, 2008, the opposition was holding large-scale protest actions, claiming election frauds; and opposition activists had repeatedly complained about physical pressure exerted on them.
