Figures on victims of terror act in Khasavyurt vary
As a result of the terror act committed by a suicide bomber in the city of Khasavyurt, Dagestan, one militiaman was lost, and some 8-12 more persons, including civilians, soldiers and militiamen, were wounded and hospitalized.
"On October 22, 2010, at about 7:15 p.m., a car, supposedly, an UAZ van, rammed the gate and rushed at a high speed into the territory of the vocational-technical school, situated at No. 2A Eskalatornaya Street, where the Dagestani Frontier Division of the local Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and the Tyumen OMON (special militia) squad are deployed," reports the Russian Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO). "Then, the suicide bomber, who was driving the car, triggered a bomb that was inside the van."
According to the ICPO, one militiaman was killed; another eight persons received different wounds. Other sources, however, reported 10 and 12 victims of the explosion.
Now, the operative-investigatory team studies the place of the incident and tries to identify the terrorists, the ITAR-TASS reports.
