US to hold telethon in favour of Karabakh

The city of Stepanakert hosted discussion of preparatory works for the upcoming annual telethon of the "Aiastan" Foundation, which will be broadcast on November 25, when the USA will celebrate the Thanksgiving Day.

This year's telethon will be held under the slogan "Water is Life", as its main objective of the event is to finance construction of water supply systems in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The "Aiastan" Foundation predicts this year's increase in the number of participants of the event by 20-30 percent. Last year, the "Telethon-2009" raised 15.8 million US dollars of donations; however, the event of 2008 was the record achievement, when 35 million US dollars were raised.
