Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan again takes control of the case of pregnant woman who was killed in special operation

The prosecutor's office of Dagestan has again taken under personal control the case on the fact of execution on November 3, 2006, by law enforcers from the Kazbek ROVD (District Interior Division) of Sapiyat Magomedova, who was in the fourth month of pregnancy. This was reported on September 16 by her husband - Gasan Baisultanov.

"Together with lawyer Sariya Vostrikova, I was received by public prosecutor Omar Zubairuev from the division for supervising investigation of criminal cases by the bodies of the prosecutor's office of Dagestan. He said that this time the criminal case on the fact of my wife's execution is under control of Magomed Dibirov, first deputy public prosecutor of Dagestan," Mr Baisultanov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, the case was set going only after his repeated appeals to the prosecutor's office of Russia. He reminded that after the murder of his wife "a criminal case was initiated on the fact of causing death by inadvertence due to improper execution by law enforcers of their professional duties."

"We know for sure that my wife was shot dead from the sub-machine gun, which was registered as the service weapon of Anas Satiraev, a militiaman of the Kazbek ROVD. The ballistic examination had proved this fact, but the workers of investigatory committee of the prosecutor's office of Dagestan protracted the process all the time; in the end of May they ruled to suspend the preliminary investigation, saying that it was impossible to establish the person to be attracted as a suspect. My father went to Moscow and was received there at the Prosecutor's Office of Russia. Only after a written instruction arrived from there to local workers, they resumed the criminal case," said Gasan.

In her turn, lawyer Sariya Vostrikova said that until now inspectors are disregarding many essential details of the crime. "The special operation then was to be conducted by the forces of the mobile group from Russia. A specialist of the group inspected the house of my client by means of a thermal viewer and said that only two persons were in Gasan's house; therefore, the pre-planned special operation should be cancelled, because the operative information about the third person - a militant - in the house was not confirmed. However, Dagestan militiamen started storming the house, killed Gasan's wife; and he received heavy gunshot wounds. These data were announced by employees of the mobile group at the court sessions," she said.

Mamatkhan Baisultanov, Gasan's father, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that employees of law enforcement bodies of Dagestan make everything possible to ruin the case.
