A militiaman perished during a skirmish in Chechnya, one more got wounded

Republican law enforcement organs reported that a militiaman perished and another one got wounded during an attempt of detention of a group of gunmen near the settlement of Nohch-Keloy, Shatoy district of Chechnya.

Tonight several militiamen were carrying out a search operation in a woodland and discovered a group of supposed gunmen who put up an armed resistance.

The militia staff opened fire in response but the strangers managed to escape.

ITAR-TASS reports that the company commander of patrol militia unit perished as a result and a senior district militia officer got wounded and was taken to hospital.
