Dagestan: lawyer who suffered from ensign of drug control agency wants to sue him

Gyulnara Bammatova, a lawyer from the "Kavkaz" Bar, who was hospitalized as a result of actions of the employee of the local drug control department, who presented himself as "Magomed Magomedovich Magomedov", is going to sue him, despite the offer of reconciliation that she received.

Gyulnara told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she came to the drug control department in order to receive documents at its office needed to enter the case. She was accompanied by a trainee and mother of Mansur Batraev, her client. At the check point and ensign on duty refused to let her in, saying that she needs to receive a pass. But even after it was done and the pass presented, she still was not let in.

The lawyer tried to pass, saying that the ensign was acting illegally. An inspector, who appeared at the check point, read the pass and said that even with the pass, the lawyer would not be able to get to the office without accompaniment. However, according to Gyulnara, he did not hurry up to act as such accompaniment. As a result of the dispute, the ensign pushed the woman: she fell down and strongly traumatized her head.

Ms Bammatova filed an application to the Sovietskiy District Prosecutor's Office; from there she went to the centre of forensic-medical examination to get her trauma certified; however, the expert refused to receive her, saying that his working day was over.

Then, according to her story, she lost consciousness and was brought by an ambulance to the central city hospital, where she will take her two-week treatment in the neurosurgery ward.

An employee of the republic's drug control department, who preferred to remain anonymous, believes that the lawyer fell down by herself. When asked by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, whether the conflict was fixed by the video observation cameras, he answered that on that very day the cameras did not work. "Nevertheless," he added, "the head of the department ordered to investigate the incident."

Bella Batraeva, mother of Bammatova's client, who was all the time with Gyulnara, is of an absolutely different opinion. She is sure that the incident was deliberately provoked with the only aim not to let the lawyer to receive the documents and enter the case.

"My son Mansur is suspected of some contacts with drug dealers; they demand that he give the names of those engaged in this criminal business. When he was detained, they severely beat him and broke his arm. The lawyer, who was given to us, was protracting the time; and I'm sure he did it deliberately, waiting for my son's beating traces and broken arm get cured," said the woman.

According to both of them, the ensign had already tried to reconcile the incident, but as Gyulnara Bammatova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, she is against it and is ready to litigate.
