Moscow pensioners-heat victims will rest in Sochi free of charge

Till the end of August, about one thousand pensioners from Moscow will have their rest in sanatoria and rest homes of Sochi on free-of-charge vouchers paid by the Department of Social Protection of the Government of Moscow. The decision was made in the context of unprecedented heat and smog from fires in the vicinities of the Russian capital.

"Sochi sanatoria and rest homes have welcomed the initiative," reports the department on resorts and tourism of the city administration. "In spite of the very heat of the resort season, they defined the daily rate of residence, meals and medical treatment for Muscovites from socially unprotected groups of population as 900 roubles."

This rate is usually offered by Sochi health resorts only in the inter-season period - in winter and autumn - just fill in the places. However, because of the force majeure circumstances, the authorities of Moscow and Sochi agreed on this low rate in the heat of the resort season.
