Exhibition-sale of Indian goods held in Adzharia

The exhibition of India-made goods, held in Batumi, the capital of Adzharia, within the programme of popularization of Indian culture in Transcaucasia, will last till August 28.

The embassy of India in Transcaucasia with its office is in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, is the organizer of the exhibition. It is already the fifth one held by the embassy in Transcaucasia, but it is for the first time held in Batumi.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by service provider Natiya Tevzadze, organizer of the event from the Georgian party, that every day the exhibition attracts plenty of local residents and tourists.

"Mainly, we have handiwork here, most characteristic for the culture and life of traditional India. But there are also factory-made products, multi-coloured fabrics and, certainly, the Indian silk," said Ms Tevzadze.

Among traditional Indian products, the exhibition shows ladies' decorations, multi-coloured powders used at Indian holidays, Indian strong spices, tea, traditional articles made of wood and bone.
